Due to the work schedule at his new job, Chris KG4WFD has had to resign as club secretary. Nominations were accepted from the floor during the October meeting. The nominees are Greg AK4LK and Glenn N4AZR. The election for secretary will be held at the December meeting.

We thank Chris for his service over the past two years.

The South Wake ARC is planning a dessert raffle for the December meeting. Please email Anna kf4usq@gmail.com if you are interested in providing a dessert for the raffle.  More details to come soon.

The South Wake ARC is raffling off a Yaesu FT-60R HT. Raffle tickets are $5 each. No limit on the number of tickets you can buy. The drawing for the raffle will be held at the December meeting. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the South Wake ARC.

The South Wake ARC will be assisting the Boy Scouts with their Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) event again this year. The JOTA event is on October 15th from about 8am to Noon at the American Legion in Fuquay Varina. Come on out if you are interested in helping out. The Boy Scouts always have a good time at this event.

The South Wake ARC will host a swapfest on October 8th from 8am to noon.

The swapfest will be held at the American Legion in Fuquay Varina. This is the same location where we have held Field Day and the JOTA. This will be a very informal event.

If weather permits we will set up outside on the picnic tables. If weather is an issue or this turns out to be a bigger event than expected we can use space in the meeting hall adjacent to the picnic area.

We are looking for a firm commitment from a few folks willing to set up things to sell. If you can commit to attending and setting up some things to sell please email Anna at kf4usq@gmail.com.

Coffee and donuts will be available. Donations will be accepted to cover the cost.

The South Wake ARC will be participating in the annual Bass Lake Day festival this year. The festival will be held on October 1st from 2 - 8pm. We plan to operate a small demo station for those attending the festival. If you are interested in helping out please contact Gino KI4YXO by email ki4yxo@nc.rr.com
