Public Service Opportunities

The South Wake ARC actively participates in public service events. Below is a list of events that we know about. Links to contact the folks in charge and sign up as a volunteer are supplied where they are available.

2017 Firecracker 100K and 50K Ride
July 4, 2017 - Tuesday - Holly Springs, NC

This is a 32 and 62 mile bike event that requires SAGS, as well as Hams assigned 
to Rest Stops. This event benefits the Greater Carolinas' Multiple Sclerosis 
(MS) Society and typically has 800+ riders.

2017 Velo4Yellow Ride
July 15, 2017 - Saturday - Wake Forest, NC

This is a 30, 60 and 100 mile bike event that requires SAGS, as well as Hams assigned to Rest Stops. The event benefits the LIVESTRONG (Cancer) Foundation.

2017 Cup-n-Cone Tour
July 29, 2017 - Saturday - Morrisville, NC

This ride has 50 and 71 mile courses and the proceeds benefit the the National MS Society. SAGS and Rest Stop Hams are needed.

2017 BikeFest

This event has 35, 62 and 100 mile routes and the proceeds benefit various Bicycling related charities. SAGS and Rest Stop Hams are needed.

2017 Five-O Memorial Bike Ride
August 20, 2017 - Sunday - Raleigh, NC

This event has 32 and 65 mile courses and benefits the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation. SAGS and Rest Stop Hams are needed.

2017 Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride
September 9-10, 2017 - Saturday and Sunday - New Bern, NC

The event features 30, 50, 75 and 100 mile rides each day, requiring SAGS, staff Shadows and Rest Stop Hams. The event benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society and typically draws about 2000 riders.
